The Israeli radio reported that an Israeli police chief in the north has ordered an internal investigation department to probe into the death of a Palestinian detainee at Rosh Pina police station four days ago.
The radio report said that Brigadier General Danny Haddad appointed an officer to investigate the event.
The detainee was identified as Ali Abu al-Rob, who was held at the station for interrogation.ÂÂ
Abu al-Rob was found hanging from a ragged blanket; the Israeli police according to initial findings believe that the detainee committed suicide.
Also, the police claimed that abu al-Rob was not questioned, and that the Israeli border-police are responsible for his interrogation; border police said that the issue will be investigated.
The family of abu a-Rub was only notified of his death on Tuesday. ÂÂ
