Monday morning, Israeli soldiers shot and killed one child, seriously injured another, near al-Wista district, in the central Gaza Strip.

A Palestinian security source said that the two children were walking in Juhr al-Deek area, east of al-Wista district, in the central Gaza Strip.

A medical source at al-Aqsa Hospital in Dir al-Balah said that child was already dead before arriving to the hospital, and that apparently he bled to death.

Dr. Moawiya Hasanen, head of the emergency unit at the ministry of health reported that the child was identified as Eyad Saleh al-Nabaheen, 17, and that he died of multiple gunshot injuries.

The injured child was identified as Ahmad al-Aydi, 15 years old.  

Soldiers delayed the ambulance from arriving at the shooting scene.

A local source in Juhr al-Deek said that the two residents, were hunting birds in the area, but soldiers suspected they were attempting in infiltrate into a military camp.

Army did not comment on the incident.
