The Islamic Jihad movement said that the military activities against the movement and its fighters will lead to retaliation against the Israeli army and settlers.

The movement threatened that these attacks, the declared Israeli intentions against the movement, ad the “hunt after its activists” will make the movement retaliate.

“The movement, and other Palestinian factions, has the right to respond to the Israeli violations in the appropriate time and place”, the movement added.

Meanwhile, the Israeli Defense Minister, Shaul Mofaz, said that the army “will continue to act against the Islamic Jihad”.

Mofaz claimed that the army is operating against the movement because “Israel will never allow the settlers to be endangered during pullout”, adding that the soldiers will “arrest whomever they can”. 

Recently, the Shabak (Israeli security service) and army decided to concentrate their attack against cells and members of the Islamic Jihad in Tulkarem, Jenin and Bethlehem

Over the last few days, the Israeli army arrested 300 members of the Islamic Jihad in several Palestinians areas.

The movement said called on the Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas, to stop the meetings with Israeli officials.

Also, the movement added that the Israeli army conducted repeated violations to the truce while it refrained from retaliating.
