Israeli soldiers shot and killed one resident in Tafoah village, near the West Bank city of Hebron, and injured six others, one seriously, after invading the village.
A Palestinian medical source in Hebron, reported that resident Waleed Suleiman Khamaisa, 19, from Tafoah village near Hebron, died of his wounds at Al Ahly hospital in the city.
Khamaisa sustained a gunshot injury in his liver, and died during surgery, four residents were moderately injured, and one seriously.
 A local source in the village reported that sever clashes erupted in the village after the soldiers invaded it, and broke into several homes there.
Soldiers detained dozens of residents, and severely clubbed them while interrogating them after forcing out of their homes.
The invasion was carried out after the Israeli Defense Minister, Shaul Mofaz, gave direct orders to his soldiers instructing them “not to have mercy on checkpoints†and intensify their activities in the West Bank.
Senior Israeli military officials said that the main arena of conflict is expected to move to the West Bank after the army withdrew from the Gaza Strip.
According to an Israeli military analyst, Palestinian factions will seek to prove that the struggle against the occupation will continue where settlements and occupation remain.
Aside from the West Bank city of Jericho, responsibility for security is still in Israeli hands.
