Israeli artillery resumed shelling areas in the north and east of the Gaza Strip. Most of the shelled areas are said to be non residential areas, east of both Beit Hanoun and Al Shuja’eyya neighborhood, in the Gaza Strip.
Eyewitnesses reported that soldiers fired at least twenty shells at the two areas, damage was reported. TheIsraeli escalation came in bid to enforce a buffer zone in both north and south of the Gaza Strip.
Israel intends to create to halt the firing of Qassam homemade shells into Israel over the last few weeks.
The military operation, "Blue Skies", intends to create a buffer zone in the northern and southern part of the Gaza Strip.
