Israeli police arrested on Sunday afternoon, Mohammad Totah, Hamas candidate in Jerusalem after participating in a debate on elections, organized by the Network of Nongovernmental Organization in Jerusalem.
Candidates of all factions also participated in the debate.
The three-hour debate was hosted by Arab member of Knesset Dr. Azmi Bishara.
Totah was arrested directed after the debate was concluded.
Dr. Bishara said that this arrest is considered a direct Israeli violation and interference in the Palestinian internal issues in an attempt to "dictate the results of these elections.
