Palestininian resistance fired on Thursday at dawn three home-made shells at Israeli targets near the Gaza strip.

Two of the shells landed in the town of Karni Zakim outside of the strip and two shells landed in the Negev desert whereas the fifth shell landed in the industrial zone in the town of Askalan, Israeli sources reported.

In a statement issued in the Gaza Strip, Al-Quds Brigades, the armed wing of Islamic Jihad movement, claimed responsibility for two shells.

According to the statement, the shelling is a response to the assassination of Nidal Abu Saada, one of the Islamic Jihad leaders in Jenin in the West Bank.
