In a local fight between activists from Hamas and Fatah late Friday night, two members of Hamas were injured in the village of Taloza near the West Bank city of Nablus.  Hamas members Ala’ Hashakh, 29 and Ra’ed Farahat, 21, were injured in the fight, local sources reported.

Tension has been high between the two parties since Hamas unexpectedly won a majority of seats in the Jan. 25th legislative election.

The fight began over results of Municipal elections in December 2005 in which the Hamas party won most of the local votes in the area. Reports indicated that Fateh members drew weapons in the fight, resulting in the Hamas members’ injuries.   Leaders from several parties in the town intervened to stop the fight.
