The Israeli Peace Now movement intends to petition the Israeli High Court of Justice to order the evacuations of six illegal West Bank outposts.

Israeli online daily, Ynetnews, reported that the step follows the movement’s earlier petition, accepted by the court, which led to the evacuation of the Amona illegal settlement outpost and the razing of the nine houses there.

The outpost was constructed on private owned Palestinian lands.

The settlers violently clashed with the soldiers during the evacuation; the clashes which were described by Israel as the worst since the Gaza pullout led more than 200 injuries.

The six illegal settlement outposts cited in the petition are Ramat Gilad, Givat Assaf, Maaleh Rehavam, Mitzpeh Lachish, Givat Haro’eh, and Mitzpeh Yitzhar.

Court orders are in effect in all six, forbidding settlers from entering a designated area surrounding each site.
