The Palestinian Authority rejected the proposal by the French President Jack Chirac in which he recommended to establish a fund under the supervision of the World Bank to pay the Palestinian state employees salaries, said Ghazi Hamad spokesman of the Palestinian Government on Saturday.
Hamad said this proposal would show the PA government as irrelevant to the Palestinian situation and would distance it from the responsibility over the money.

"We have no problem to coordinate with the Palestinian President or other countries,  however we do not accept any solution that would cancel the role of the government under any circumstances," and added, our bottom line is to get this money channeled to Palestinian employees."

Hamas has said earlier it agrees that aid funds go to the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas’ office where they can also be managed, including the salaries.

Hamad said if these organizations control the economy the Palestinians will be their slaves.
