Palestinian medical sources and eyewitnesses reported, on Friday evening, that five residents, including two brothers were killed after the Israeli air force shelled a training camp which belongs to the Salah Ed Deen Brigades, the military wing of the Popular Resistance committees, in Al Sabra neighborhood in Gaza city.
Abu Mojahid, media spokesperson of the Committees reported that an Israeli fighter-jet fired at least one missile at the training camp and killed five members of the Brigades; at least three residents were injured in the attack.
Dr. Moawiya Hassanen, head of the Emergency Unit at the Palestinian Ministry of Health, reported that the bodies of the five killed residents were severely mutilated.
Four of the casualties are members of the same family, they were identified as Hamada, Jom’a, Ahmad and Mahmoud Daghmash while the fifth is from Wafi family.
The Israeli army confirmed it had targeted the Popular Resistance Committees, and claimed that the residents were training for “attacks against Israeli targets”.
An Israeli military source reported that the " army will continue to track down and killed any residents involved in
attacks against Israel.
Israeli online daily Haaretz reported that the assassination is the first operation given the green light by the newly appointed Israeli Defense Minister, Amir Peretz.
In the West Bank city of Nablus, one Palestinian teenager was killed by the Israeli forces, and two others were injured on Friday afternoon during a military invasion to the city.
Qassem Al Qotob, 19, was killed after twenty military vehicles invaded Nablus and clashed with dozens of residents.
