Israeli soldiers accompanied by a military doctor, broke on Friday at dawn into a Palestinian hospital in the West Bank city of Nablus, and arrested an injured resistance fighter.

Under-cover military units of the Israeli army (Duvdevan) and the Haruv infantry battalion participated in the attack, an Israeli military source reported.

Tareef Abu Salah, a doctor at the Biblical Hospital in Nablus, reported that the arrested resident,  Jawad Qaabi, suffered a serious injury in his stomach during an Israeli military invasion in the West Bank city of Nablus last month.

According to Israeli military sources, Qaabi is considered the leader of the military wing of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine; Israel holds him responsible for several attacks against the army.

The source added that Qaabi was transferred to a military hospital in Israel, and that he will be transferred for interrogation by the Shin Bet security service at a later date.

The military sources spoke to the press on condition of anonymity since they were not allowed to talk to the press.
