Seven Palestinian armed factions declared Saturday evening that they have formed a group that will be solely responsible for abducting Israeli soldiers or carrying out attacks against them if they invade the Gaza Strip.
The seven groups that formed the unit consists of Ayman Judah Brigades and Ahmad Abu Al Reesh brigades belonging to Fateh movement, Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades from the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, Al Quds Brigades from the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad, National resistance Brigades belonging to the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, Al Mojahedeen Brigades, and Baha’ Ed Deen Sa’id Brigades.
The seven groups held a joint press conference in the Central Gaza Strip and demanded all fighters in the Gaza Strip to follow the recommendations of the “joint operation room” in order to counter any possible Israeli ground offensive.
The groups also asked residents to stay away from confrontation areas in order to avoid civilian casualties.
A spokesperson of the joined groups said that the Israeli media is trying to broadcast rumors aimed at attacking the determination and steadfastness of the Palestinian people, and appealed the residents not “to fall into this trap”.
