The Al Aqsa Foundation are organizing demonstrations to stop Israeli desecration of Islamic holy sites. Palestinians conducted a sit-in in protest of Israeli violation of a Palestinian cemetery in a village taken in 1948.

The Israelis are destroying it in order to build residential apartments for Jewish people who continue coming from all over the world to displace Palestinians from their lands with the encouragement and financial incentives of the Israeli government. Many settlers do not pay taxes, they do not pay school fees, and they do not pay for their homes in the West Bank.

The nonviolent demonstration took place in front of the Supreme Court in Jerusalem with dozens of Palestinians, including the Foundation President, their lawyer, and the Al Aqsa Foundation’s Secretary.

Nonviolent Palestinian demonstrators held banners denouncing violating the sanctity of Muslim cemeteries. “Excavating graves and building apartments impermissible,” and “Stop desecrating the sanctity of our graves.”

This is another step in the Israeli process of ethnically cleansing the Palestinian population and moving further toward their myth that Palestine was a “land without a people for a people without a land.” If ancient Palestinian graves, or even those from the years just before 1948, do not exist, perhaps it will be easier to sell the claim that the Palestinians never existed.

The Israeli Supreme Court has yet to answer the appeal, while Palestinian members of the Israeli Knesset continue to fight in vain.
