Two are killed in the Gaza Strip on Thursday, several residents are injured, while in the West Bank a senior Hamas leader is shot and injured by unknown gunmen. These stories and more coming up, stay tuned.
 
The Gaza Update

Palestinian medical sources in Gaza reported on Thursday afternoon that one resident was killed after an Israeli plane fired one missile at a group of residents east of Jabalia town in northern Gaza. The death toll in Gaza rises to two on Thursday. Nasser Al Nither, 22, died on the spot due to direct hits in the head, medical sources reported. Al Nither is from Jabalia refugee camp, in the northern part of the Gaza Strip. Al Nither is a member of  Al Quds Brigades, the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad.

Several other residents were injured, one seriously, but medics could not reach them due to being fired at by the invading Israeli tanks, Dr. Muawiya Hassaneen, head of the Emergency Unit at the Palestinian Ministry of Heath in the Gaza Strip, reported. Earlier on Thursday morning, Israeli army helicopters fired a missile at a group of residents and killed one. The army also shot and injured eight school boys east of Beit Lahia, in the northern part of the Gaza Strip.
 
Mohamed Al Jarjawi, 19, was killed after being hit by shrapnel from a missile fired at a group of residents from an Israeli army helicopter while standing in the street in Al Sheikh Zayed neighborhood, east of Beit Lahia town.

Meanwhile, ground forces, tanks and bulldozers, backed with aerial coverage, stormed Skeikh Zayed  neighborhood and opened fire at several residents, injuring eight school boys who were on their way to school. Dr. Hassanen said that one boy and one girl were taken to a nearby hospital, while the rest were treated on the spot.
 
Also on Thursday morning, local sources reported that army bulldozers uprooted farmlands and animal sheds in the eastern parts of Jabalia town, in the northern part of the Gaza Strip.

The West Bank Update

Palestinian sources in Qalqilia, in the northern part of the West Bank, reported that a senior Hamas leader was moderately injured after unknown gunmen opened fire at him earlier on Thursday at dawn. The sources stated that Sheikh Riyadh Walweel was heading to the mosque for dawn prayers when he was shot and injured.

He was hit by four rounds of live ammunition in his foot and arm. Several residents rushed to the scene and called medics who moved Sheikh Walweel to a local hospital in Nablus. The gunmen fled the scene directly firing at Walweel.

Thursday, Israeli soldiers took five residents prisoner in Hebron city, in the southern part of the West Bank. Palestinian security sources in Hebron reported that soldiers broke into several houses, northeast of the city, searched them, and took five residents prisoner.  Three of the five were identified as Imad Sami Al Ja'bary, 35, his brother Mohammad, 23, and Mohammad Bajis Al Ja'bary, 27.

In the meantime, Israeli forces invaded Ein Beit Al Ma' in the northern West Bank city of Nablus and took prisoner two residents on Thursday morning. Wajdi Barakat, 19, and Mustafa, Abu Al Ruz, 21, were taken to unknown locations when troops attacked, searched and ransacked their homes along with neighboring homes, eyewitnesses reported.

Elsewhere, south of Jenin in the northern West Bank the Israeli army invaded Qabatiya town, and took prisoner four residents on Thursday morning. A number of army vehicles stormed the town and surrounded a neighborhood where they forced residents out of their homes, interrogated them and searched and ransacked their home before taking Yasser Hanaisha, 40, Ahmad Taza'ah, 22, Sa'ed Al Hathnawi, 27, and the fourth, who remains unknown, to unknown locations.

Nidal Mansour, 25, was taken prisoner by the Israeli forces that invaded the West Bank city of Jericho on Thursday at dawn. Troops and army jeeps stormed the city center, surrounded the house of Mansour, who is also an officer in the Palestinian Authority forces, and took him to an unknown location.
