The Palestinian Center for Human Rights, based in Gaza, published on Thursday its weekly report on the Israeli violations in the occupied territories. The report is for the period between April 3- 9.The PCHR reported that Israeli forces extra-judicially assassinated three Palestinians in the occupied West Bank.
During the reported period nine Palestinian civilians, including six children and one girl were injured by Israeli military fire in the West Bank. These injuries took place as the army carried 37 invasions into Palestinian communities in the West Bank.
During these invasions, soldiers kidnapped 60 Palestinians, including six children and one woman. Four Palestinians were kidnapped in the Gaza Strip.
On Friday evening, May 4, two members of the Al Quds Brigades, the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad, and a mentally-disabled resident, were shot and killed by an under-cover unit of the Israeli army in Sielet Al Harthiyya, west of the northern West Bank city of Jenin.
The three were identified as ‘Ezzat Sa’id Zayoud, 21, a mentally disabled bystander, and the two fighters; Mahdi Mohammed Abu Al Kheir and Khaled Saleh ‘Aashour.
In the Gaza Strip, four Palestinians were injured on Monday May7 after the army carried a failed assassination attempt in the northern part of the Gaza Strip.
All international crossings in the Gaza Strip remained closed completely barring the residents from leaving the Gaza Strip, and the Eretz Crossing between the Gaza Strip and Israel remained sealed off and the residents were unable travel into Israel of abroad even for medical purposes.
The Gaza Strip remained suffering from a lack in fuels and medication.
The army continued its attacks against Palestinian fishermen in Gaza and fired at Palestinian fishing boats at Beit Lahia beach.
The Palestinian territories remained under full closure, and additional roadblocks were installed in the West Bank; six residents were kidnapped at these checkpoints.
The army continued the construction of the Annexation Wall, while soldiers based at one of the Wall’s gates near Jenin, abused and attacked one woman.
On Friday may 4, soldiers attacked the nonviolent weekly protest in Bil’in village, west of Ramallah, and injured three civilians as the protesters marched towards a gate at the Wall in that area.
Soldiers fired rubber-coated metal bullets and gas canisters at the Palestinian and international peace activists and violently attacked and clubbed the protesters.
Settlements activities continued and the army annexed lands that belong to villagers of Kufur Qaddoum village, near Qalqilia. The annexation was made in order to pave a military road in the area.
Settlers also continued their attacks and stormed a hill in Halhoul village, near the southern West Bank city of Hebron. Another extremist settlers group burnt 250 Dunams of agricultural land near Tulkarem.
