Palestinian resistance groups in the Hamas-ruled Gaza, shelled early on Monday Israeli areas near the border lines with Gaza Strip. In a statement, faxed to press, the aL-Qassam brigades, the armed wing of the ruling Hamas, claimed responsibility for firing five mortar shells onto a number of Israeli tanks, stationed to the east of Khan Younis in southern Gaza Strip. Meanwhile, the aL-Aqsa Martyrs brigades, the armed wing of the Fatah party, fired a homemade shell onto Israeli areas near the Maghazi refugee camp in central Gaza Strip. A statement, issued by the aL-Aqsa Brigades, read that the shelling came in response to continued Israeli crimes against the West Bank and the Gaza Strip and an emphasis on the resistance strategy.
