Palestinian and Israeli sources reported on Wednesday morning that one Israeli soldier and one Palestinian Resistance fighter were killed in clashes between Israeli troops invading the southern part of the Gaza Strip and resistance fighters. Israeli army spokesperson reported that two other soldiers were mildly wounded during the clashes, and that that two Hamas fighters were killed. Palestinian sources only reported one fatality among the fighters.
The wounded Israeli soldiers were evacuated to Soroka hospital in Be’er Shiva, Israeli online daily, Haaretz, reported. The slain Israeli soldier is from Kafr Jeet Druze town.
The spokesperson added that the clashes took place as ‘the army was conducting routine operations’ against resistance fighters and groups in Gaza.
On Tuesday, soldiers killed three Palestinian fighters in the southern part of the Gaza Strip and located a tunnel used to smuggle weapons and munitions.
In the occupied West Bank, Israeli soldiers kidnapped at least 23 Palestinians since the early morning hours. The army claimed that the kidnapped Palestinians are wanted by the Israeli security agencies but did not comment on which factions or groups they belong to.

One Palestinian resistance fighter of the aL-Qassam brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, has been reportedly killed by Israeli army gunfire and two Israeli soldiers wounded, upon the army invasion of the Qarrara town.
A contingent of the Israeli army swept earlier on Wednesday into the southern Gaza Strip town of Qarrara, sparking an armed clash with resistance fighters near the Kussofim crossing, east of the town.
Medical sources reported that Mohammad Shamiya, 23 was killed and several others were wounded by the Israeli gunfire.
The Al-Qassam brigades, the armed wing of the ruling Hamas party announced that one of its fighters was killed during clashes with the invading Israeli force.
The Saraya aL-Quds brigades, the armed offshoot of the Islamic Jihad group said its fighters clashed with the Israeli soldiers to the east of aL-Qarrara town and the Bani Sohaila town, east of Khan Younis city. Meanwhile, the Israeli radio reported that two Israeli soldiers were shot and wounded near the Kussofim crossing, to the east of Qarrara, to the southeast of Gaza Strip.
Yesterday, the Israeli army killed a fighter of the popular resistance committees during an army incursion into the northern Gaza Strip refugee camp of Jabalya.
