Four Palestinians were detained during a military operation targeting the village of Beta, near the northern West Bank city of Nablus.Undercover forces of the Israeli army, using a Palestinian car, opened fire at a group of men at the entrance of the village moderately wounding Hitham Odah, 33, before detaining him and other three men. Troops later allowed a Palestinian ambulance crew to examine Odeh before he was taken away by the military.
Medics told media outlets that Odeh sustained moderate wounds due to gunshot wounds in both knees. Another man who was detained with Odeh sustained cuts and bruises after being beaten up by the soldiers.
Eyewitnesses reported that the soldiers showered the car with bullets before kidnapping Odeh along with Daoud Bani Shamsa, Ayman Dweikat, and Mohammad Bani Shamsa.
Resident Daoud Bani Shamsa was wounded in the head after being violently attacked and beaten by the soldiers.
Earlier on Wednesday four other Palestinian civilians were detained by Israeli soldiers during military invasions targeting a number of West Bank communities.
Local sources reported military invasions in Nablus, in the northern part of the West Bank, and Ramallah central West Bank, in addition to Jericho city in the Jordan valley.
