A group of Israeli settlers attacked on Tuesday late at night a Palestinian worker in Jerusalem’s old city, Palestinian media reported on Wednesday.
Yasser Rabayiaa, 35 years old, was on his way home in Bethlehem city near Jerusalem when the group of settlers attacked him.
Witnesses said that the settlers dragged Rabayiaa into an empty street and attacked him with batons. People called the police who arrested some of the settlers and handed Rabayiaa to his family.
Rabayiaa’s family took him to the hospital in Bethlehem city. Rabayiaa suffered moderate wounds due to the attack, doctors reported.
This week tension escalated in Jerusalem city. Over the week end 30 Palestinians were injured when they tried to stop settlers rally near the old city. On Tuesday scuffle between Israeli troops and Palestinian youth at the same location.
