Palestinian sources in the Gaza Strip reported on Thursday that the Egyptian Border Authorities only allowed two out of eight passenger buses to cross through the Rafah Border Terminal, located in the southern part of the Gaza Strip. The Egyptian Authorities did not provide any explanation, while hundreds of residents had to go back home.
Hundreds of the residents who were forced back to Gaza carry residency permits in different countries. Many also have work and travel visas and plane tickets. Egypt was their first destination before traveling to their final destinations.
The issue pushed dozens of residents to hold a protest in front of the terminal demanding the Egyptian Authorities to keep the terminal permanently open.
