Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas, will deliver a speech at the European Parliament on Thursday in Strasbourg, the Palestinian Ma’an News Agency reported. Strasbourg is the first stop of Mr. Abbas’ trip to the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, and France to gain more support for the Palestinian application at the UN Security Council.
On Wednesday after arriving in Strasbourg, the Palestinian leader held a meeting with the European Security and Foreign Policy chief, Catherine Ashton. They discussed the latest developments concerning the bid for Palestinian-UN full membership.
The Palestinian President delivered a speech to the UN General Assembly two weeks ago after submitting the Palestinian membership application to the UN Secretary-General, Ban Ki-Moon, on Friday, September 23.
