In a series of military incursion into West Bank towns in the pre-dawn hours of Wednesday morning, Israeli troops arrested twelve Palestinians and took them to an unknown location.One of those taken was a minor, 17-year old Bahaa Mansour, who was taken from his home in Deir Istiya, a village in the north of the West Bank.
Also taken from Deir Istiya were Jihad Khaled, 26, Issam Mansour, 18, who were taken from their homes while they were sleeping, according to the Mayor of the village, Nathmi Salman.
In an invasion of the village of Azzun, near the northern West Bank town of Qalqilia, Israeli troops abducted nine Palestinians in the early hours of the morning. According to a report by the Ma’an News Agency, four of the men were released later in the day and claimed that they had been beaten by the soldiers while they were detained.
There have also been unconfirmed reports of other abductions by Israeli troops in Beit Ummar, Yatma, Awarta, Al-Arrub and Qalandiya villages in the West Bank.
Israeli invasions of Palestinian towns and villages are a nightly occurrence in the West Bank, and Israeli troops frequently abduct Palestinians from their homes in the middle of the night and take them to unknown and undisclosed destinations.
