A Salafist Jihadist group in the Gaza Strip demanded that the Palestinian government of its rival Islamic resistance movement, Hamas, release all of its detained operatives, and to “allow the fighters to fight against the Jewish invaders of the land of Palestine”.Sunday, the group, known as “Majlis Shura al-Mujahidin Fe Aknaf Beit al-
Maqdis (Mujahideen Shura Council In The Environs of Jerusalem), held a conference at
the al-Bureij refugee camp, in central Gaza. The group demands that the security forces
of the Hamas-led government in Gaza release all of the detained fighters, and to stop
targeting Jihadist Salafist groups in the coastal region.

As a result of Israeli military operations in Northern Gaza, the group sustained two
casulties. One if the casulties was a senior member of the Mujahideen Shura Council.

During its Sunday press conference, the group said that Hamas should stop targeting
Salafist fighters and must allow them “to continue training and preparing to fight against
the Jewish occupiers of Palestine”.

The group also demanded Hamas “to return the stolen weapons, and all combat
equipment that the Hamas-controlled security forces confiscated by force from all
Jihadist groups in Gaza”.

The group said that Islamist spiritual leaders in the Islamic world must urge Hamas to
rule by Sharia law, and order its security forces to stop targeting jihadist fighters.

On Sunday, the Majlis Shura al-Mujahidin held a massive funeral for Hisham as-Saidni,
43, who was assassinated by the Israeli army in Jabalia on Saturday evening.

An Israeli army spokesman said that as-Saidni was one of the founders of Majlis Shura
al-Mujahidin that operates under the umbrella of the Global Islamic Jihad. It claimed that
as-Saidni “carried out several attacks against Israeli civilians and soldiers”, according to
an Israeli military source.
