Israeli occupation forces have continued their offensive in Jenin and its refugee camp, in the occupied West Bank’s northern part, for the 128th consecutive day, escalating destruction through widespread bulldozing and demolitions aimed at altering its infrastructure and identity. The military blockade remains in place, preventing entry and exit from the camp.
Jenin Mayor Mohammed Jarar has stated that municipal teams are working urgently to restore infrastructure, ensuring that essential services remain accessible to residents.
Efforts include repaving key roads such as Nazareth Street and Al-Bayader Street while repairing the water network and sewage system in the eastern neighborhood.
The cost of these repairs is estimated at 17 million shekels, with further work underway to rehabilitate the road leading to Ibn Sina Hospital in the city center.
The destruction in Jenin refugee camp is extensive, with municipal estimates indicating that Israeli forces have demolished 600 homes, while others have suffered partial damage.
The continuous military operation has forced approximately 22,000 residents to flee, causing an unprecedented humanitarian crisis.
Direct financial losses have reached 300 million dollars, and thousands have lost their livelihoods, exacerbating economic instability across the area.
On Tuesday, a Palestinian civilian was injured after Israeli soldiers threw a gas bomb at him. In a separate incident, a 12-year-old child was wounded by rubber bullets during confrontations in central Jenin following an invasion of currency exchange businesses in Cinema Square and Abu Bakr Street.
Occupation forces stormed Al-Khaleej Exchange and Fakhr Al-Din Exchange, looting substantial sums of money and seizing their contents.
Several employees were abducted during the operation. Tear gas was deployed throughout the city, causing journalists to suffer from suffocation, while rubber bullets and stun grenades were fired at civilians in the marketplace.
The soldiers also targeted a group of journalists in the center of Jenin city, firing tear gas bombs to obstruct their coverage of the ongoing military offensive.
Large numbers of troops invaded commercial complexes, stationed snipers on rooftops, and disrupted daily life for more than seven hours, forcing business closures, halting government operations, and shutting down schools.
In Arraba, Israeli forces invaded the central square and a gas station, stormed another branch of Al-Khaleej Exchange, confiscated its funds, and abducted an employee before shuttering the premises and posting military notices on its walls.
Villages across Jenin Governorate are experiencing near-daily military invasions, with occupation forces reinforcing their presence throughout the area.
Jenin refugee camp and its surroundings remain heavily targeted, with live ammunition frequently fired inside residential neighborhoods. Infantry units continue to spread across multiple districts, tightening control over movement in and around the city.
The Palestinian Prisoners’ Club reports that nearly 1,000 Palestinians have been abducted from Jenin and Tulkarm over the past four months, including those later released. Since the beginning of the invasion, Israeli forces have killed 40 Palestinians and wounded more than 200.
The invasions are part of broader attack, initiated earlier Tuesday, across various parts of the occupied West Bank on Tuesday, storming and ransacking homes, in addition to many currency exchange shops and commercial areas.
In related news, Israeli forces executed a Palestinian young man, on Wednesday, after invading his family’s home in the village of Jit, east of Qalqilia in the northwestern part of the occupied West Bank.
Media sources reported that occupation forces stormed the home of the young man, Jassem Ibrahim Sedda, 20, at dawn Wednesday, shooting him with several live rounds while he was asleep in his bed.
Furthermore, Israeli forces killed the young man, Mahmoud Faisal Kharraz, 32, after shooting him in the pelvis, Tuesday, and injured six others, including one seriously in the northern West Bank city of Nablus.
Also Tuesday, Israeli forces killed a Palestinian young man on Tuesday, after invading the city of Jericho, in the northeastern part of the occupied West Bank.
Medical sources reported to the WAFA News Agency that the young man, Mohammad Yahya Mousa Jalayta, 20, succumbed to live gunshot wounds at dawn Tuesday.
