Israeli occupation forces targeted a group of journalists in the center of Jenin city, in the occupied West Bank’s northern part, on Tuesday morning, firing tear gas bombs to obstruct their coverage of the ongoing 127-day military offensive.
Media sources said the soldiers stormed a commercial complex, positioning snipers on rooftops, while deploying tear gas and smoke bombs near Cinema Square and the public transportation hub.
The soldiers then deliberately targeted a group Palestinian journalists with gas bombs, and tried to force media outlets away from the invaded areas.
Soldiers also spread across Abu Bakr Street, the central market district, after raiding Al-Khaleej Exchange, where two employees were abducted. Another branch of Al-Khaleej Exchange, located in Cinema Square, was also raided.
Israeli forces reinforced their presence by sending additional military units from the Jalama military roadblock, deploying infantry units along key roads, including Haifa Street, an area housing government offices and civic institutions.
The invasions are part of broader attack, initiated earlier Tuesday, across various parts of the occupied West Bank on Tuesday, storming and ransacking homes, in addition to many currency exchange shops and commercial areas.
Furthermore, a 32-year-old Palestinian was shot by Israeli soldiers in the pelvic area during the invasion of the Old City of Nablus, in the northern West Bank.
Also Tuesday, Israeli forces killed a Palestinian young man on Tuesday, after invading the city of Jericho, in the northeastern part of the occupied West Bank.
Medical sources reported to the WAFA News Agency that the young man, Mohammad Yahya Musa Jalayta, 20, succumbed to live gunshot wounds at dawn Tuesday.
