Friday March 8 2013, Palestinian medical sources reported that a Palestinian youth was seriously injured by a round of live ammunition after Israeli soldiers, stationed across the border, opened fire at a group of Palestinians, working in their lands, east of Jabalia, in the northern part of the Gaza Strip.Ashraf Al-Qudra, spokesperson of the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza, reported that the resident, in his twenties, suffered a serious injury after being shot by a live round to the chest, and was moved to the Kamal Odwan Hospital.

The attack is part of dozens of repeated violations carried out by the army against Palestinian farmers and lands close to the border areas in the coastal region. Dozens of casualties have been reported due to these ongoing violations.

The army also carried repeated limited invasions into border areas in the northern and eastern parts of the Gaza Strip, in direct violation to the ceasefire the ended the eight-day Israeli offensive on the coastal region.

During the 8-day war in November of last year, Israeli missiles and shells killed 191 Palestinians, including children, women and elderly, while at least 1492 Palestinians have been injured, dozens seriously.

48 children, including 16 under the age of five, have been killed by Israeli missiles and shells, in addition to 12 women and 20 elderly.

1492 Palestinians, including 533 children (195 under the age of 5), 254 women and 103 elderly have been injured by Israeli fire and shells.

Also on Friday, a Palestinian cameraman identified as Ata Oweisat, was injured in the face after Israeli soldiers attacked Palestinian protesters in the Al-Aqsa Mosque, in occupied Jerusalem.
