Hebrew paper Yedioth Aharnoth reported, Tuesday, citing Israeli political sources, that Israel has agreed to gradually lift the ongoing siege imposed on the Gaza Strip. US Secretary of State John Kerry apparently intends to visit Israel next week.According to an Al Ray report, a secret deal has been made between Israel and the United States to lift the siege, beginning with opening the crossings to and from the Gaza Strip.
Israel opposes paying the salaries of Gaza employees while it will reportedly allow the reconstruction of the region through international aid, the sources added.
Yedioth Aharnoth additionally stated that the issue of disarming the Palestinian factions will not be part of the agreement which is under construction in Cairo, as of recent.
However, the USA will support Israel’s request to work on preventing the arming of Hamas and other Palestinian resistance factions, while Israel will work on the same issue internationally.
