Prisoners at the Ramla prison told a lawyer on Thursday that the deceased detainee was disabled and suffered various diseases prior to his abduction.
They added that the young man had been transferred to Ramla prison one month ago, and suffered from severe various ulcers.
The prisoners told the lawyer that Al-Banna had died on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, and that the Israeli Prison administration did not officially announce his death until Thursday.
The two organizations, in a statement, said that the escalation in the number of Palestinian detainees who have died in Israeli prisons as a result of torture and medical crimes, “constitutes a clear decision to kill prisoners and detainees in the context of the ongoing genocide in Gaza.”
They added that the detainee was abducted two months ago from his home in Gaza and was subjected to torture which aggravated his health condition.
