Several Palestinians were injured on Friday as illegal paramilitary Israeli colonizers and Israeli occupation forces carried out attacks across the occupied West Bank, including shootings near Hebron, assaults and abductions, invasions, and attacks on civilian workers.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society reported that two Palestinians were shot by illegal Israeli colonizers during an attack on the Al-‘Adisa area in Bani Neim town, east of Hebron in the southern West Bank.
Local sources said groups of colonizers attacked Palestinian homes and opened live fire at residents, wounding two Palestinians in the area.
In a separate incident, illegal Israeli colonizers assaulted Hamada Kawamla while he was cultivating his land near Beit Ummar, north of Hebron in the southern West Bank. According to local sources, the colonizers struck him with a motorcycle before Israeli occupation forces abducted him.
Meanwhile, confrontations erupted on the outskirts of Al-Mughayyir village, northeast of Ramallah in the central West Bank, after local residents confronted a colonizer attack targeting the community.
In occupied Jerusalem, Israeli occupation forces invaded the town of Hizma, northeast of the city, closed its entrances, and fired gas bombs and concussion grenades. Soldiers also detained and assaulted a young Palestinian after stopping his vehicle.
In Beit Fajjar, south of Bethlehem, Israeli occupation forces invaded the town and confronted Palestinian residents. Soldiers fired live ammunition, gas bombs, and concussion grenades.
In the northern West Bank, local sources reported that illegal Israeli colonizers wearing Israeli military-style uniforms attacked a crew from the Palestinian Electricity Distribution Company. The sources said the assailants detained two employees and confiscated money belonging to one of them.
The attacks occurred amid a broader escalation of violence throughout the occupied West Bank. In a briefing to the UN Security Council on August 11, UN Deputy Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process Ramiz Alakbarov warned that “the West Bank is at the breaking point,” adding that colonizer violence has reached “unprecedented levels.”
He said the United Nations has documented more than 1,430 incidents involving Israeli colonizers in 2026 that resulted in casualties, property damage, or both, affecting approximately 260 Palestinian communities.
On August 13, the UN Human Rights Office (OHCHR) called on Israeli authorities to protect Palestinian families trapped in their homes in Qusra village, south of Nablus in the northern West Bank, amid ongoing attacks by colonizers.
OHCHR stated that the actions were “clearly aimed at forcing them to leave their homes and their land,” warning that “time is running out” before the affected families risk forcible displacement. [news.un.org]
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reported on August 14 that 38 colonizer attacks resulting in casualties, property damage, or both were documented in a single week.
OCHA said colonizer violence, demolitions, and movement restrictions continue to displace Palestinians, undermine livelihoods, and deepen humanitarian needs across the occupied West Bank. [ochaopt.org], [unocha.org]
