Two Palestinians were injured on Tuesday when illegal paramilitary Israeli colonizers opened fire on residents of Rashaida village, east of Bethlehem in the occupied West Bank, before Israeli soldiers later stormed the area and abducted two young men.
Jom’a Rashaida, the head of the village council, stated that a group of colonizers invaded the village around midday and began shooting live ammunition toward residents.
The attack left two men wounded — one in the foot and the other in the hand. Both were transported to a nearby medical center for treatment.
Shortly after the shooting, Israeli soldiers invaded the village, deployed around several homes, and abducted Zakariya Habis Rashaida, 21, and Mohammad As’ad Rashaida, 22, before withdrawing.
Rashaida has faced a steady escalation of colonizer violence in recent months, including shootings, assaults on shepherds, and repeated attempts to seize grazing lands.
These attacks, they note, occur under the protection of Israeli forces, who frequently invade the village following colonizer assaults to conduct arrests or impose movement restrictions.
