Illegal Israeli colonizers assaulted two activists in the town of Qusra on Friday, and set fire to citizens’ homes and vehicles in the town of Jalud south of Nablus in the northern occupied West Bank.

Media sources reported that a group of settlers attacked and injured two solidarity activists in the “Ras al-Ain” area of Qusra town, south of Nablus.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) reported that its ambulance crews provided first aid to a 71-year-old woman and a 51-year-old man before transferring them to Magen David Adom ambulance crews who transported them to an Israeli hospital.

In a statement, the occupation army said “earlier on Friday, Israeli army and police forces responded to a report that masked Israelis (terrorist settlers) had attacked Palestinians and other Israeli civilians in the area of the village of Qusra. The incident resulted in the injury of two Israeli civilians, who were taken to the hospital for treatment.”

The statement added that “security forces are searching for those involved. An investigation into the circumstances of the incident has begun.”

Meanwhile, a group of illegal settlers set fire to a Palestinian-owned warehouse and vehicle, and damaged homes in the nearby town of Jalud.

According to Raed Al-Hajj Muhammad, the head of the Jalud Village Council, a group of Israeli colonizers set fire to a warehouse and a vehicle belonging to the citizen Imad Hammoud; the fire was extinguished.

He added that the settlers hurled rocks at citizens’ homes in the area causing damage to a number of windows.

Media sources reported that local Palestinians confronted the invading settlers and added that occupation forces’ vehicles were in the vicinity of the attack.

In related news, Israeli forces abducted two Palestinian brothers after an incursion by illegal colonizers in Khirbet al-Hamma in the northern Jordan Valley.

Media sources reported that armed settlers, under army protection, pointed weapons at the unarmed citizens, threatened them, and assaulted them. Soldiers then abducted the two brothers Omeir and Ammar Mithqal Mohammad Foqaha.

The increased incidence of attacks by Israeli settlers across the occupied West Bank mirrors the army’s policy of punishment against occupied Palestinians. It is important to stress that occupation forces frequently provide cover for illegal colonizers who attack unarmed citizens and solidarity activists.
