Israeli occupation forces continued their aggression against the besieged Gaza Strip on Tuesday, as local authorities reported new fatalities and injuries amid ongoing bombardment and the collapse of basic services across the enclave.

According to the daily statistical report issued by health authorities in the Gaza Strip, seven Palestinians were killed and twenty‑two others were injured over the past twenty‑four hours as a result of Israeli attacks.

The wounded were transported to hospitals across the Strip, where medical teams are struggling to cope with the influx of casualties amid severe shortages of medicines, fuel, and equipment.

The report added that a number of victims remain under the rubble of destroyed buildings and in streets that are too dangerous or obstructed for rescue teams to reach.

Ambulance and civil defense crews continue to face major obstacles due to ongoing Israeli fire, destroyed roads, and the lack of heavy machinery needed to remove debris, raising fears that many of the missing are dead but uncounted.

Since the announcement of the latest “ceasefire” on October 11, 2023, a total of 784 Palestinians have been killed in the Gaza Strip, while 2,214 others have been injured.

During the same period, rescue teams have managed to retrieve 761 bodies from under the rubble of homes, public buildings, and streets targeted by Israeli strikes.

Local officials say these figures reflect only the cases that have reached hospitals and been formally documented.

The cumulative toll since the beginning of the Israeli genocide in Gaza on October 7, 2023, has now reached 72,560 Palestinians killed and 172,317 injured, according to the same report.

Health authorities stressed that these numbers are provisional and subject to increase as more bodies are recovered and as wounded Palestinians succumb to their injuries in hospitals that are operating far beyond capacity.

United Nations agencies and humanitarian organizations have repeatedly warned that the ongoing Israeli attacks, combined with the destruction of infrastructure and the blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip, have created an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe.

They have highlighted the collapse of the health system, the displacement of large segments of the population, and the spread of hunger and disease, calling for immediate, unimpeded access for aid and for the protection of civilians and medical facilities in accordance with international law.

Local and international human rights groups have also documented widespread destruction of residential areas, schools, and public facilities across the Gaza Strip, noting that many families have been displaced multiple times and are living in overcrowded shelters or makeshift tents.

They emphasized that the continued targeting of densely populated areas, along with restrictions on movement and aid, amounts to collective punishment of the civilian population.

Health officials in Gaza reiterated that without a sustained cessation of Israeli attacks and a massive increase in humanitarian assistance, the death toll is likely to continue rising, both from direct bombardment and from preventable causes such as lack of medical care, unsafe water, and inadequate shelter.
