Israel’s expansion of airstrikes to its northern neighbors, Lebanon and Syria, continued with renewed bombing of civilian areas in both countries on Wednesday.

Israeli occupation aircraft launched a series of raids on the southern suburb of the Lebanese capital, Beirut, on Wednesday evening, causing widespread destruction to buildings, facilities and infrastructure.

According to local sources, 19 members of the same family were killed in an Israeli airstrike on their home in the town of Tefahta, southern Lebanon.

The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced on Wednesday evening that the death toll from the ongoing Israeli aggression on Lebanon since October 8 , 2023, has risen to 2,574 Lebanese people killed, in addition to 12,000 wounded.

The ministry said in a statement that 28 people were killed and 139 others were injured in the past 24 hours.

The coordinator of the government emergency committee, the Minister of Environment in the Lebanese caretaker government, Nasser Yassin, announced the recording of 74 air raids on different areas of Lebanon, most of them in the south and Nabatieh, during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of attacks since the beginning of the aggression to 10,849 attacks .

Yassin pointed out that 1,097 centers were opened to receive the displaced, 922 of which reached their maximum capacity, noting that the displacement movement continues and the total number of displaced persons has reached 191,503 (44,247 families) in shelters.

This evening, Israeli occupation aircraft launched raids on the towns of Jbaa, Khiyam, the Hosh Tyre area, Nabatieh al-Fawqa, al-Sarirah, and the Wadi Barghaz area.

On Tuesday, the Lebanese station al-Mayadeen television reported that six rockets were fired at the US military base at the Conoco gas field in Deir Ezzor, eastern Syria.
