On Thursday, Israeli forces continued their aggression against the northern West Bank city of Jenin and the Jenin refugee camp for the 17th consecutive day; the ongoing assault has killed 25 citizens, displaced thousands, and destroyed many homes and infrastructure.
According to the Jenin Camp Media Committee, at least 15,000 citizens have been displaced from their homes in the Jenin refugee camp, while at leats 180 homes have been destroyed.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) reported that its ambulance crews rescued an 80-year-old man from inside the Jenin refugee camp and transported him to hospital in stable condition.
The Arab 48 News website reported that occupation forces detonated the home of the slain Mohammad Asri Fayyad, one of the leaders of the Jenin Battalion, in the Al-Ghabs neighborhood in the Jenin refugee camp.
It added that the army invaded Burqin town, west of Jenin, and besieged the home of the former prisoner, Osama Hashem Khalouf, before storming and searching the home, and abducting two unidentified young men.
Media sources said that Israeli forces continue to besiege the Jenin Governmental Hospital after bulldozing its entrance and the main street leading to it.
Sources added that regular military reinforcements are being pushed to the city and its camp from the Jalamah military roadblock north of the city, while the army continues to destroy citizens’ homes in the Jenin refugee camp.
In a statement, Kamal Abu al-Rob, the Jenin Governor, said that the demographics of the camp have completely changed as a result of the demolition of homes and the detonation of an entire residential block.
According to Mohammad Jarar, the Mayor of Jenin, the situation in Jenin is catastrophic and the city and its camp are experiencing complete paralysis in all aspects of life.
Media sources said that Israeli forces continue roaming the streets and neighborhoods of the city, while bulldozers and other armored vehicles remain at the entrance to the Jenin Governmental Hospital and in the Al-Zahraa neighborhood near the Jenin refugee camp.
In related news, the army continued its military offensive in the city of Tulkarem and the Tulkarem refugee camp, in the northwestern part of the West Bank, for the 11th consecutive day.
In the northeastern part of the occupied West Bank, occupation forces have continued to besiege the Al-Far’a refugee camp and the town of Tammun, in the Tubas governorate for the 5th consecutive day.
