On Saturday, Israeli forces killed a Palestinian young man after invading the town of Bruqin, west of Salfit in the central occupied West Bank.

The Palestinian Health Ministry announced that occupation forces shot and killed the young man, Nael Sami Abdul-Rahman Samara, 36, after being informed by the General Authority of Civil Affairs.

Media sources reported that occupation forces opened fire with live ammunition towards Samara, in the “Al-Balata” area of Bruqin town, causing injuries, before abducting him; the army withheld the body of the slain young man.

Sources added that Israeli forces stormed Bruqin town on Saturday afternoon, followed by military reinforcements, in their search for the perpetrator of the shooting operation which killed one settler and injured another near the illegal “Bruchin” settlement, west of Salfit.

Soldiers reportedly besieged Palestinian-owned homes in Bruqin town and detained several young men, while firing live rounds, tear gas canisters, and concussion grenades at citizens.

In a statement, the occupation army and the Shin Bet, said that Israeli forces conducted an intensive search operation, on Saturday morning, near the site of the shooting, and abducted a number of young men, alleging they were involved in the shooting.

The statement added that “during the arrest of one of the suspects, a ‘terrorist’ was spotted running toward the forces carrying a bag suspected to be explosives. Following the immediate threat, the forces engaged him and neutralized him. No injuries were reported among the forces.”

On Wednesday night, an Israeli settler was killed and another was wounded when an unidentified assailant opened fire at vehicles near the Bruchin colony, west of Salfit.

Media sources said that the unknown perpetrator opened fire from a moving vehicle and fled the area, killing one Israeli settler and injuring another.

Quds Press reported on Sunday that occupation forces continue to besiege the city of Salfit and the towns of Kafr ad-Dik and Bruqin, west of the city, harassing citizens and damaging their vehicles.
