Illegal Israeli paramilitary colonizers set fire to vast areas of land in Douma village, south of Nablus, in the northern part of the occupied West Bank, early Sunday morning.
Suleiman Dawabsha, head of the Douma Village Council, reported that settlers ignited fires in the southwestern part of the village, leading to the spread of flames across hundreds of dunams, including olive tree plantations.
Palestinian Civil Defense teams successfully extinguished the fires and brought the situation under control.
Dawabsha emphasized that the greatest threat facing Douma is the expansion of pastoral illegal Israeli colonies, which continue to spread like a cancer, consuming village lands.
He added that the village is constantly subjected to settler attacks and repeated assaults on residents and their property.
On Saturday evening, a two-year-old Palestinian child was injured after an illegal paramilitary Israeli colonizer assaulted her in Hebron, in the southern part of the occupied West Bank.
Also Saturday evening, Israeli soldiers fatally shot a Palestinian child, Nidal Wael Abdul-Karim Shaghnoubi, 16, and injured two others in Burqa village, northwest of Nablus, in the northern part of the occupied West Bank.
On Friday at dawn, the illegal Israeli paramilitary colonizers burnt fourteen Palestinians cars and hurled a firebomb at a home in Deir Istiya, northwest of Salfit in the central West Bank.
All of Israel’s colonies in the occupied West Bank, including those in and around occupied East Jerusalem, are illegal under International Law, the Fourth Geneva Convention, in addition to various United Nations and Security Council resolutions. They also constitute war crimes under International Law.
Article 49 of the Fourth Geneva Convention states: “The Occupying Power shall not deport or transfer parts of its own civilian population into the territory it occupies.” It also prohibits the “individual or mass forcible transfers, as well as deportations of protected persons from occupied territory.”
On Friday, Israeli forces killed a Palestinian teenage boy after he allegedly stabbed an Israeli police officer at one of the gates of the Al-Aqsa Mosque in the Old City of occupied Jerusalem.
Media sources said that occupation police shot the young man, Mohammad Nidal Abu Lebda, 17, after he allegedly stabbed an Israeli police officer at the Bab al-Silsila (Chain Gate), one of the gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
On Thursday, Israeli occupation soldiers killed five Palestinians in Tammun town, south of Tubas, in the occupied West Bank’s northeastern part.
This year alone, 146 Palestinians, including 26 children and 5 women, have been killed in the West Bank, one of the slain Palestinians was killed by illegal Israeli paramilitary colonizers.
Israeli soldiers and paramilitary colonizers have killed 981 Palestinians in several parts of the occupied West Bank, since October 7, 2023.
