On Saturday evening, Israeli soldiers fatally shot a Palestinian child and injured two others in Burqa village, northwest of Nablus, in the northern part of the occupied West Bank.

The incident took place after many Israeli military vehicles invaded the village and closed streets, stopping and harassing many Palestinians while inspecting their ID cards, leading to protests.

The Palestinian Health Ministry stated that the Palestinian General Authority for Civil Affairs officially informed them that the child, Nidal Wael Abdul-Karim Shaghnoubi, 16, was killed before the soldiers took his corpse.

The Health Ministry said the soldiers did not provide treatment to the seriously wounded child and prevented Palestinian medics from reaching him before he succumbed to his wounds.

The Israeli army claimed that soldiers from its “Unit 636” observed the Palestinian reportedly throwing stones at military vehicles before they “neutralized” him, adding that no injuries were reported among the soldiers.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said its medics treated two children, aged 17 and 13, after soldiers shot them with live rounds in their arms and moved them to a hospital in Nablus.

Following the fatal shooting, the Israeli army closed the main Jenin-Nablus road near the village’s main entrance and obstructed Palestinian traffic, especially near the illegal Homesh colony, built on stolen Palestinian lands.

In related news, several Israeli military vehicles invaded Kafr Malek village, east of the central West Bank city of Ramallah, and closed several streets before withdrawing.

Media sources said that occupation police shot the young man, Mohammad Nidal Abu Lebda, 17, after he allegedly stabbed an Israeli police officer at the Bab al-Silsila (Chain Gate), one of the gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
