Israeli airstrikes continued across the Gaza Strip on Monday, killing two Palestinians and wounding several others, as the humanitarian situation in the besieged enclave remains dire months after the declared “ceasefire.”
Medical sources and field reporters confirmed that the attacks targeted areas in Gaza City and the central region, adding to the steadily rising toll of casualties since October 2025.
In Gaza City, a Palestinian man was killed on Monday evening, and several others were injured, when Israeli warplanes struck an area along Street 10 in the southern part of the Zeitoun neighborhood, southeast of the city.
Medical teams said they transferred one fatality and multiple wounded Palestinians to nearby hospitals amid ongoing aerial activity.
Earlier in the day, a young man was killed, and others were wounded when an Israeli drone fired missiles at a location in the Abu Sha’ban area north of the al‑Bureij Refugee Camp in central Gaza.
Residents reported that the drone strike occurred without warning, causing panic among families already displaced by previous attacks.
Humanitarian organizations warn that the ongoing strikes, combined with the destruction of infrastructure and the collapse of essential services, continue to deepen the crisis facing the population.

Large sections of Gaza City and the central region remain heavily damaged, with thousands of families displaced and living in makeshift shelters or overcrowded facilities.
Despite the declared ceasefire, residents, and medical teams report that Israeli attacks have persisted, particularly in areas near the eastern and southern boundaries of Gaza City and in the central refugee camps.

The Ministry of Health in Gaza said hospitals received two slain Palestinians and nine wounded in the past twenty‑four hours as a result of continued Israeli attacks.
The Ministry added that several victims remain trapped under the rubble and in the streets, with ambulance and civil defense crews unable to reach them due to ongoing bombardment and destroyed access routes.
It also said that, since the “ceasefire” declared on October 11, 2025, the cumulative toll has reached 834 Palestinians killed and 2,354 wounded.
Civil defense teams have also recovered 767 bodies from beneath the rubble of destroyed homes and buildings, many of them in areas that remain inaccessible due to unexploded ordnance, collapsed structures, and the continued presence of Israeli military forces along the perimeter.
Since the beginning of the genocide in Gaza on October 7, 2023, Israel has killed at least 72,612 Palestinians and injured more than 172,457, the Ministry of Health’s latest update issued on May 4, 2026, has confirmed.
