Illegal Israeli paramilitary colonizers established a new colonial outpost on Sunday on privately owned Palestinian land west of Deir Istiya, in the northwestern part of Salfit Governorate, central West Bank.
Nathmi Salman stated that the colonizers invaded the al-Junaynat area at dawn, setting up tents on a 44-dunum plot. Throughout the day, several colonizers were observed conducting site preparations and construction activities.
Salman emphasized that this new outpost is part of a broader campaign targeting Deir Istiya by Israeli occupation forces and settlers.
He warned of its strategic location, midway between Deir Istiya and Qarawat Bani Hassan—in a densely cultivated olive grove area.
The presence of colonizers poses a direct threat to Palestinian olive harvesters, especially given the proximity of an existing agricultural outpost and the activity of settler cattle herders in the region.
The newly erected outpost lies near the illegal settlement of Revava, built on Palestinian lands in the northwestern Salfit area.
This region continues to suffer from systematic violations by Israeli forces and settlers, including land razing and the obstruction of Palestinian access to their farmland.
On Sunday morning, Israeli paramilitary colonizers attacked the Bedouin community of Khallet al-Sidra, east of Mikhmas near occupied Jerusalem in the West Bank, blocked the community’s only access road and severed electricity cables.
On Tuesday evening, Israeli colonizers killed one Palestinian, and injured others in the town of Al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah, in the central West Bank.
The Palestinian Health Ministry announced on Tuesday evening, the death of 22-year-old Sa’id Murad Na’san, after he was shot in the chest by Israeli settlers in Al-Mughayyir.
All of Israel’s colonies in the occupied West Bank, including those in and around occupied East Jerusalem, are illegal under International Law, the Fourth Geneva Convention in addition to various United Nations and Security Council resolutions. They also constitute war crimes under International Law.
Article 33 of the Fourth Geneva Convention prohibits collective punishment and acts of terror against civilian populations.
Article 49 of the Fourth Geneva Convention states: “The Occupying Power shall not deport or transfer parts of its own civilian population into the territory it occupies.” It also prohibits the “individual or mass forcible transfers, as well as deportations of protected persons from occupied territory”.
Articles 53 and 147, which prohibit the destruction of civilian property and classify pillage as a war crime.
