On Tuesday at dawn, Israeli forces detonated a Palestinian-owned home in the village of Orif, southwest of Nablus in the northern occupied West Bank.

Late Monday night, more that twenty armored vehicles stormed the village, while soldiers surrounded the family home of the slain young man, Muhannad Faleh Shehadeh, in a prelude to demolishing it.

After wiring the ground floor apartment with explosives, the family home was detonated and destroyed in a clear act of collective punishment and retribution.

Muhannad Shehadeh was killed on June 20, 2023 by an illegal Israeli colonizer after he and another young man were accused of carrying out a shooting attack at the entrance to the illegal Eli colony, north of Ramallah in the central West Bank.

Article 33 of the Fourth Geneva Convention states;

    No protected person may be punished for an offence he or she has not personally committed. Collective penalties and likewise all measures of intimidation or of terrorism are prohibited.

    Pillage is prohibited.

    Reprisals against protected persons and their property are prohibited.
