On Thursday evening, Israeli forces killed a Palestinian man and wounded another in the village of Beit Ur al-Fauqa, west of Ramallah in the central occupied West Bank.
The Palestinian Health Ministry announced the death of Mohammad Ali Yusuf Shtayyeh, 37, after he was shot by occupation forces, adding that the army confiscated his body.
Media sources reported that occupation forces opened heavy fire towards a civilian vehicle near the Beit Ur al-Fauqa military roadblock, west of Ramallah, shooting two young men in the vehicle, killing one and abducting another.
In a statement, the Israeli army said that its forces opened fire on the vehicle after two Palestinians “arrived at the site and attempted to carry out the operation against the force present at the scene.”
The statement alleged that one of the men “was armed and tried to shoot at the force, so he was killed,” and added that the second man “was arrested by Israeli army forces.”

The army admitted that the second young man was also wounded but failed to mention his condition. Military reinforcements were sent to the area and soldiers closed the military roadblock.
Since the beginning of the year, Israeli forces and colonizers have killed 213 Palestinian citizens in the occupied West Bank, including 39 children and 6 women.
Occupation forces have killed 71 Palestinians in Jenin, 38 in Nablus, 29 in Tubas, 17 in Tulkarem, 16 in Hebron, 16 in Ramallah, 9 in Bethlehem, 7 in Jerusalem, 6 in Qalqilia, 3 in Salfit, and 1 in Jericho, according to the Shireen Observatory.
In the Gaza Strip, the overall death toll since October 7, 2023 has increased to 66,225 including women and children, while at least 168,938 Palestinians have sustained various degrees of injuries as a result of Israel’s military onslaught.
