Israeli forces killed a Palestinian on Thursday, near the town of Ya’bad, west of Jenin in the northern occupied West Bank, while occupation forces detained a number of young men after storming Al-Yamoun town northwest of the city. In the Jenin refugee camp, the army continued its military campaign in the Jenin camp, including the demolition of homes.
The Ministry of Health was announces the death of the young man, Khaled Munir Abdul Qader Houbi, 40, after he was shot by Israeli forces near Jenin, adding that the army confiscated the body.
The Israeli army announced that their soldiers “neutralized” a Palestinian after he allegedly carried out a shooting attack near the evacuated “Hermesh” settlement, build on Palestinian-owned lands near Ya’bad town.
The army added that no injuries were reported among its soldiers as a result of the purported shooting operation.
The slain Houbi was a citizen of the town of Zeita, north of Tulkarem, in the northwestern part of the West Bank.
In related news, the army invaded the town of Al-Yamoun, northwest of Jenin, detained and assaulted citizens and abducted a young man.
Media sources said that Israeli soldiers stormed Al-Yamoun town, stormed a commercial shop, and detained those inside, before abducting the young man, Ahmed Al-Thaminat.
Sources added that occupation forces detained and assaulted a group of children, deployed an infantry unit in the streets and fired tear gas canisters at citizens.
Media sources said that occupation forces pushed military reinforcements, including bulldozers, to the Jenin refugee camp, in preparation for another demolition operation targeting the homes of Palestinian civilians.
Sources added that occupation regime announced their plan to demolish 95 Palestinian-owned homes, particularly in the western neighborhood and on Al-Sikka and Abdullah Azzam streets in the Jenin refugee camp.
According to the Jenin Municipality, the Israeli army has completely or partially demolished at least 600 homes inside the besieged refugee camp since the start of its aggression against the city and the camp on January 21, 2025.
Since the beginning of the year, Israeli forces have killed 155 Palestinian citizens in the occupied West Bank, including 27 children and 5 women.
Occupation forces have killed 57 Palestinians in Jenin, 28 in Nablus, 26 in Tubas, 15 in Tulkarem, 7 in Hebron, 5 in Bethlehem, 5 in Ramallah, 4 in Jerusalem, 4 in Qalqilia, 3 in Salfit, and 1 in Jericho.
In the Gaza Strip, the overall death toll since October 7, 2023 has increased to 55,207, including women and children, while at least 127,821 Palestinians have sustained various degrees of injuries as a result of Israel’s military onslaught.
