On Thursday, Day 87 since the resumption of the genocide, Israeli missiles, shells, and live fire killed and injured dozens of Palestinians, including children and women, across the devastated, starved and besieged Gaza Strip. Medical sources in Gaza said the Israeli army has killed at least 42 Palestinians, and injured dozens, since dawn, Thursday, including 24 slain Palestinians who were awaiting humanitarian aid.

Five civilians, including children, were killed early Thursday as Israeli forces bombed the town of Abasan al-Kabira and the Mawasi area, east and west of Khan Younis in southern Gaza.

Medical sources confirmed that a woman and her child were among those killed in the Abasan al-Kabira attack.

The sources also reported that Israeli forces targeted displaced persons’ tents in the Mawasi area west of Khan Younis, resulting in the deaths of Abdul-Wahab Abu Hadaf, his wife, and their son.

The army also wired and det9onated many residential buildings and homes in the eastern and the southern areas of Khan Younis.

Medical sources said at least twelve Palestinians were killed, and many more wounded, in Israeli attacks in Khan Younis, since dawn.

In addition, many Palestinians were killed and injured by Israeli army gunfire near the American aid distribution center in Rafah, in Gaza’s southmost part.

Meanwhile, Israeli warplanes continued to conduct intense airstrikes, accompanied by heavy artillery shelling, striking various locations in Khan Younis.

Israeli forces also conducted demolition operations targeting residential buildings in eastern Gaza City.

Five Palestinians were killed, and others were injured on Thursday by Israeli forces near an aid center in the Al-Sudaniyya area, northwest of Gaza City.

Earlier, 13 civilians were killed, and nearly 200 others were wounded by Israeli gunfire at an aid distribution center near the “Netzarim” military roadblock, in central Gaza.

Israeli forces have repeatedly targeted aid distribution points in recent days, including in Rafah and central Gaza, resulting in dozens of deaths and injuries.

According to UN reports, these attacks appear to be part of an effort to forcibly displace residents in what some describe as an ethnic cleansing strategy.

On Wednesday, 57 civilians were killed, and 363 others were injured while waiting for assistance under the so-called “U.S.-Israeli aid mechanism.”

Medical sources reported that the total number of individuals killed while seeking food aid and reaching hospitals from designated distribution sites has reached 224, with more than 1,858 injuries since May 27.

As a result, aid distribution centers affiliated with the so-called “Gaza Humanitarian Relief Foundation,” an Israeli-American initiative widely rejected by international organizations, have become locations of mass killings, exacerbating humanitarian suffering and forcing residents to flee under dire conditions.

Medical sources noted that 80 civilians were killed, and dozens wounded in the past 24 hours, including 57 individuals who were seeking food assistance.

On its part, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society announced on Thursday that it is experiencing major communication disruptions with its teams operating in Gaza. This comes after Israeli forces reportedly struck the remaining telecommunications infrastructure, causing a total blackout of internet and landline services.

The organization noted that its emergency response center is also struggling to coordinate relief efforts with other humanitarian groups due to the outage.

Earlier in the day, the Palestinian Telecommunications Regulatory Authority confirmed that the last remaining fiber-optic line had been damaged, effectively shutting down all fixed communication services across the Gaza Strip.

The authority warned of the critical humanitarian and social implications of the blackout and appealed to relevant local and international bodies to take swift action. It emphasized the need to guarantee safe access for technical teams so they can repair the network and restore services. Without intervention, the situation threatens to deepen the communications crisis and further isolate Gaza’s population.

In related news, a group of 17 children from Gaza, including Adam Najjar, who lost his nine siblings in an Israeli bombing on his family last month, has arrived in Italy for medical treatment, accompanied by more than 50 family members.

Adam Najjar, who sustained multiple fractures, arrived with his mother at Milan’s Linate Airport. He was welcomed by Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani and subsequently transferred to Niguarda Hospital in the city.

The plane that landed at Linate carried five other injured children, while 11 others arrived on different flights at various Italian airports.

The Israeli attack on May 23 resulted in the killing of nine children of Dr. Alaa’ Najjar and her husband, Hamdi Najjar, who succumbed to wounds about a week later. Adam suffered severe injuries and was transferred to Nasser Hospital, one of the few medical facilities still operating in southern Gaza.

Speaking to La Repubblica, Alaa Najjar, 36, said: “Adam’s condition is now stable. He sustained a head injury, and the wound is healing. But his left arm is broken, and its nerves are damaged.”

Adam himself stated: “The damage is in my left hand; there is a problem with the nerves. I cannot feel my fingers, and I still have severe pain.”

Italy’s Foreign Ministry announced earlier on Wednesday that 70 children would arrive on three flights to receive medical care in hospitals across Milan, Rome, and Bologna.

According to UNICEF, Israeli military operations in Gaza since October 7, 2023, have led to the deaths of more than 15,000 children and injuries to over 34,000 others.

The latest medical transfer brings the number of wounded Gazans transported to Italy for treatment by the government to 150.

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni previously stated: “Israel’s operations against Palestinians in Gaza have reached unacceptable levels,” urging an immediate halt and the protection of civilians.

Since the resumption of the genocide after Israeli violated the ceasefire agreement on March 18, 2025, the Israeli army has killed at least 3,411, including 944 children, 132 women, 148 elderly, and 26 journalists, and injured more than 14,879, including many children, women, elderly, medical staff, and journalists.

Since the beginning of this year, and despite cease fire that ended on March 18, Israel has killed at least 4,701 Palestinians, including 1,265 children and 322 women, and injured at least 14,879, mostly children, women, and elderly.

Israel has now killed at least 54,981 Palestinians, including more than 16,507 children, 9,803 women, 4,036 elderly, 254 journalists, 1411 medical staff, 203 UNRWA workers, 113 Civil Defense,  and injured at least 126,615, largely children women and elderly, in addition to about 11,160 who remain missing, largely under the rubble of bombarded homes, buildings and alleys, across the destroyed Gaza Strip.
