Israeli occupation forces shot and killed 37-year-old AbdulHalim Rawhi Hammad inside his family home early Wednesday during a military invasion of the town of Silwad, east of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank’s central part, before seizing his body.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health, citing the General Authority for Civil Affairs, confirmed that Hammad was killed by Israeli live fire in the family’s home when Israeli troops stormed the town at dawn.

Local residents reported that the invading force surrounded and then stormed the Hammad family home, where Abdul‑Halim lived with his relatives.

Witnesses said soldiers broke into the house and ransacked it, before assaulting family members—including women. The assault inside the home led to a scuffle in which Abdul‑Halim reportedly stabbed two soldiers.

He was immediately shot dead at close range, and the army confiscated his body before withdrawing from the area. Abdul‑Halim Hammad was the father of a one‑and‑a‑half‑year‑old daughter.

Before leaving Silwad, Israeli forces detained Hammad’s father and brother, subjected them to severe physical abuse, and caused extensive damage to the family home.

Residents described the invasion as one of several increasingly aggressive incursions carried out by the army in recent weeks.

Abdul-Halim’s killing adds to the growing number of Palestinians shot dead during Israeli military invasions across the occupied West Bank, where the army and illegal paramilitary colonizers continue to carry out killings, abductions, home invasions, and widespread destruction amid the ongoing war and mass civilian casualties in Gaza.

His brother, Mohammad Rawhi Hammad, was killed by Israeli forces in 2021, and his body has remained withheld since then.

Since the beginning of this year, Israeli forces and illegal paramilitary colonizers have killed 54 Palestinians, including 12 children and five women. Among them are 16 Palestinians killed by colonizers in separate attacks across the occupied West Bank.
