Israeli forces seriously injured a Palestinian child on Sunday after shooting him with live ammunition in the northern West Bank city of Nablus.

Media sources said that occupation forces invaded the eastern area of Nablus city on Sunday evening, sparking protests among local Palestinian youths.

Sources added that soldiers opened fire with live rounds and tear gas canisters, shooting a 16-year-old child in the back with a live round; he was transported to the hospital in critical condition.

Meanwhile, at dawn Sunday, a large army force stormed the Old City of Nablus and deployed infantry units in several neighborhoods in addition to the eastern market area; no arrests or protests were reported.

Quds Press reported that occupation forces invaded the town of Tel, southwest of Nablus on Sunday afternoon, later storming the eastern part of Nablus city, and firing flares in the sky above the town of Awarta, south of Nablus.
