Earlier Monday, on the 35th day since the resumption of the genocide in the Gaza Strip, the Israeli army continued bombing and shelling various parts of the destroyed, besieged, and starved coastal region, killing and wounding dozens of Palestinians.
Medical sources confirmed that a Palestinian husband, Ibrahim Sbeitan, and his wife, Bayan Mohammad Dosouqi, were killed when the army fired a missile at their tent in the Al-Mawasi area, west of Khan Younis, in the Gaza Strip’s southern part.
Additionally, at least five Palestinians were killed and many others injured in an Israeli airstrike targeting a house belonging to the Baraka family in the Az-Zana area of Bani Soheila, east of Khan Younis city.
Among the slain Palestinians are Khaled Baraka, his wife, and their sons Hotheifa and Saif, while the search continues under the rubble as several Palestinians remain missing.
Two Palestinians from the Abu Mustafa family were killed, and a few others injured, when the army fired shells at farmers on their lands in Abasan town, east of Khan Younis.
In Rafah, in Gaza’s southernmost part, one Palestinian, Abdul-Rahman Ghanem, succumbed to serious wounds he suffered in an Israeli bombing of homes a day earlier. The army also wired and detonated several residential blocks in Rafah.
Medical sources in Rafah said that, over the last 24 hours, ten slain Palestinians were transferred to the Gaza European Hospital, including five who were killed when the army fired a missile at a donkey-drawn cart, east of Rafah.
In related news, medical sources said a Palestinian, Nael Helmi An-Nakhala, succumbed to serious wounds he suffered days earlier when the army fired a missile at a vegetable stall in Deir Al-Balah, central Gaza Strip.
Medical sources also reported that a fisherman, Hasan Ahmad Sa’idi, succumbed to serious wounds he suffered on Sunday at noon in an Israeli bombing of the Shati’ refugee camp in Gaza City, bringing the number of slain Palestinians in the attack to three, including one woman, in addition to several injuries.
Furthermore, five Palestinians were killed and several others injured in an Israeli bombing targeting Nakheel Street in Gaza City’s Tuffah neighborhood, and two others were killed in another bombing of Wadi Al-Arayes Street in the Zeitoun neighborhood, southeast of the city.
The army also demolished several homes east of the Tuffah neighborhood in the eastern area of Gaza City and heavily bombarded areas east of the Zeitoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City.
Also, Israeli military quadcopter drones intensively fired live rounds and missiles in the eastern neighborhoods of the Shuja’iyya and Tuffah neighborhoods, east of Gaza City.
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) has reiterated its call for an immediate ceasefire, adding that Palestinian civilians are enduring unimaginable suffering.
UNRWA added that the “vast majority of the population in Gaza are children, women and ordinary men,” and stated, “Nothing can justify the collective punishment of the Palestinian people.”
Israel has now killed more than 51,295 Palestinians, including 15,626 children, 9,806 women, 3,853 elderly, and 235 journalists, and injured at least 116,869 (about 70% of whom are children and women) in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023.
About 11,200 Palestinians remain missing, largely under the rubble of bombarded homes and buildings, on destroyed streets and in alleys across the devastated coastal enclave.
In the occupied West Bank, Israeli soldiers and paramilitary colonizers have killed 962 Palestinians, including 194 children and 21 women. Among the slain Palestinians are 24 who were killed by paramilitary colonizers and 279 who were extrajudicially executed.
