Israeli occupation forces tightened military measures at key military roadblocks, on Monday morning, intensifying restrictions on movement into and out of the Jericho city and its surrounding areas, in the occupied West Bank’s northeastern part,

Media sources reported a severe congestion at the al-Bawwaba al-Safra (Yellow Gate) military roadblock east of Jericho, where troops subjected all inbound and outbound vehicles to exhaustive inspections and field interrogation.

South of the city, the DCO roadblock saw heavy congestion after similar security procedures were imposed.

The army also reinforced controls at the Hay’t and Banana military roadblocks, carrying out extensive searches of residents and their vehicles and severely curbing freedom of passage.

Troops additionally closed the Taybeh gate, which links the Ramallah and Jericho governorates, further isolating the area.

These measures form part of an ongoing policy aimed at constraining the movement of West Bank residents, including those in Jericho and the Jordan Valley, through intensified military roadblocks and severe access restrictions, accompanied by many assaults and abductions.
