Illegal paramilitary Israeli colonizers, accompanied by Israeli far‑right “Minister of Settlements” Orit Strock, invaded the Tarousa area between Dura and Deir Samet in the western Hebron district, in the occupied West Bank’s southern region, on Sunday evening.
The group erected a menorah and performed religious rituals under full military deployment, after soldiers surrounded the area and prevented Palestinians from entering.
Local sources reported that Israeli occupation forces forced shop owners in Deir Samet to close their businesses, while soldiers deployed heavily along the road leading to the area.
Troops also closed the main road connecting Dura with the western villages for more than two hours, preventing Palestinians from using the route and severely disrupting movement.

Residents noted that the Israeli government had previously approved the establishment of a new colony in the area, named “Nahal Doron,” as part of a broader plan to create 19 new illegal colonies across the occupied West Bank.

In a related incident, Israeli occupation forces invaded the town of Beit Awwa, west of Hebron, spreading through neighborhoods and streets and obstructing the movement of residents.
Also, Israeli forces carried out temporary road closures in multiple parts of the southern West Bank, including routes linking villages west of Hebron. These closures caused delays, forced detours, and disrupted access to workplaces and services.
Residents of Dura, Deir Samet, and surrounding communities reported expanded military patrols today, with soldiers stationed at junctions and village entrances following the Tarousa invasion.
In Tulkarem, in the northwestern West Bank, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) reported that its medical teams treated three Palestinians injured after colonizers assaulted residents in the town of Beit Lid, east of the city. Medics provided first aid at the scene before transferring the injured to hospital. Their injuries were described as moderate.
All of Israel’s colonies in the occupied West Bank, including those in and around occupied East Jerusalem, are illegal under International Law, the Fourth Geneva Convention in addition to various United Nations and Security Council resolutions. They also constitute war crimes under International Law.
Article 33 of the Fourth Geneva Convention prohibits collective punishment and acts of terror against civilian populations.
Article 49 of the Fourth Geneva Convention states: “The Occupying Power shall not deport or transfer parts of its own civilian population into the territory it occupies.” It also prohibits the “individual or mass forcible transfers, as well as deportations of protected persons from occupied territory”.
Articles 53 and 147, prohibit the destruction of civilian property and classify pillage as a war crime.
