Israeli police attacked, on Friday, Palestinian worshipers near the Old City of Occupied Jerusalem, injuring many citizens, and restricted access to the Al Aqsa Mosque.

On Friday morning, Israeli police enhanced their security measures in the Old City of Occupied Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Police closed the Old City with barriers, inspected the identities of citizens and prevented many from entering.

A large police force was deployed to prevent Palestinian Muslim worshipers from reaching the Al-Aqsa Mosque to perform Friday prayers.

Later, those denied entry to the Al-Aqsa Mosque, gathered in the Wadi al-Jouz neighborhood to perform Friday prayers.

In a brutal attack against peaceful citizens, Israeli occupation police fired excessive amounts of tear gas canisters, in addition to rubber-coated metal bullets, concussion grenades, and sprayed wastewater at them.

Police attacked Palestinian journalists who were trying to cover the event, and forcibly removed them from the scene.
